Does McNamara own the cars I see online or are they owned by other individuals and dealers?

McNamara owns every car we sell, and unless otherwise noted, all the cars on our website are physically located at one of our McNamara stores.

How do you choose the cars that you sell?

We dig deep into every car’s history to rule out any car with flood damage, frame damage, or salvage history. Any car that can’t meet our Clean Title Guarantee gets sold at auction — not to you. Cars must also pass a 125+ point inspection and undergo a detailed reconditioning to be sold at McNamara. Some CarMax cars have unrepaired safety recalls; here’s what you should know about that.

What does it mean that all McNamara cars are McNamara Quality Certified?

Every car we sell is McNamara Certified, which means no flood or frame damage, and no salvage history. In addition, it means a car has passed our 125+ point inspection and undergone a detailed reconditioning process. A small sample of our 125+ point inspection includes checking all engine components and associated systems for proper operation, leaks, abnormal noises, corrosion, bad connections, or excessive wear. Tires and wheels must pass an inspection and are replaced when wear exceeds state or local law. Some McNamara cars have unrepaired safety recalls; here’s what you should know about that.

What is the difference between the McNamara limited warranty and the optional MaxCare® extended service plan?

Every car we sell automatically comes with a McNamara limited warranty even if your car is still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. This means your vehicle’s major systems, plus hundreds of parts inside and out are covered, including labor. We offer a 90-Day/4,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Limited Warranty. MaxCare extended service plans are an optional service you can choose to purchase when you purchase your car. These optional plans can be tailored to your monthly budget, and provide coverage of your vehicle’s major systems and hundreds of parts, inside and out, for several years.

Is there a fee for buying online?

 

No, there is no fee for buying online, regardless of whether you choose delivery or express pickup. If you choose a car that must be shipped to your local McNamara prior to your purchase, there may be a shipping fee. If a shipping fee applies to a car want to you buy online, it’ll be clearly displayed on the car’s detail page. Shipping fees are not part of the vehicle’s purchase price and are paid in advance of shipping the car.
